Day 1. Arrive in Yangon (D)

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel. Your sightseeing begins by visiting the colossal Kyaukhtatgyi Buddha, one of the world's largest reclining Buddha's. You will then make photo stops in the heart of Yangon, at such locations as City Hall, the High Court and many colonial style buildings. In the early evening, you will visit the Strand jetty to witness the daily life of the local people and where you will see Yangon's River, which offers a remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colors and photo opportunities. You will then embark upon an evening visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda (a true landmark and one of Myanmar's greatest wonders). Next, you will have a world class buffet dinner at Karaweik Hall, a luxury modern restaurant which is in the form of a huge Myanmar mythical bird and sits at the water's edge. You will then stay overnight in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon - Bago - Yangon (B/L)

Today you will visit Bago, an ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom. Bago is famous for its traditional cheroot industry. Upon arrival in Bago you will start your excursion with a visit to Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Myanmar, with a height of 114 meters. Next up, the imposing Kanbawzathari Palace of King Bayintnaung ( 1551-1581 AD). You will continue your tour to Kyaikpun, with four gigantic Buddha images all sitting facing the four cardinal points of the compass. On the way back to Yangon you can stop at the Karzine traditional medicine village before an overnight stay in Yangon.

Day 3: Yangon (B/L)

In the morning you will continue your Yangon city tour by visiting the Nagar Glass factory where you can experience old methods of making glass by experienced workers and then go to Lawka Chanthar, with the world's biggest marble Buddha and the royal white elephant.

After lunch, you can go shopping in the Bogyoke market (formerly "Scott Market") where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicrafts, jewelry, fabrics, lacquer ware and so on. You can also visit China Town markets selling fresh fruits, flowers and local delicacies.

Then, your guide will bring you to the famous MK gems shop, where high quality gems are displayed in eight different decorated show rooms. This is just one example of why Myanmar is the world number one producer of precious stones

Day 4: Yangon - Thanlyin - Yangon (B/L)

Today you will take a drive to Thanlyin (Syriam). The city used to be the Portuguese colonial capital during the 16th century and a famous sea port in the region. En route you will get to see lotus covered lakes and small wooden houses in traditional village style. You will see the Kyauk Tan Yele Pagoda, situated in the middle of the river. You can enjoy feeding the huge catfish around the pagoda then return to Yangon for late lunch. You will have the option of a photo stop at the national races village where you can observe the different cultures of Myanmar's main national races without having to travel throughout the country. You will stay overnight in Yangon.

Day 5: Yangon Departure (B)

There are no activities planned for today. You can enjoy your free time until being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
