Day 1: Hanoi – Yangon (B)
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be welcomed by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check in.
You will pay an evening visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, a landmark of Myanmar and one of the greatest wonders of the world. There will be a buffet dinner served at Karaweik Hall, which is a modern restaurant designed in the form of a huge Myanmar mythical bird, and which sits on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake. You will spend the night in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Bago – Yangon (B/L/D)
In the morning you will take an 80 kilometer drive to visit Bago, the ancient capital of the 16th Century Mon Kingdom. Bago is famous for its traditional cheroot industry. On the way, there will be photo stops at Shwenyaungpin Nat Shrine (where visitors pray for safe journeys) and at Htauk Kyant, a war memorial cemetery compound which houses 27,000 stone graves of common wealth and Allied forces who fell during World War II.
You will explore the Bago local market, where you can buy a variety of local farm products and study the lifestyle of the villagers. You will also visit the ShweMawDaw Pagoda (the tallest pagoda in Myanmar, with a height of 114 meters) and the imposing Kanbawzathari Palace of King Bayintnaung ( 1551-1581 AD ). You will continue your tour at Kyaikpun, which houses four gigantic Buddha images, which sit facing the four cardinal points of the compass. You will end your tour exploring the stairways of Shwetharlyaung and the reclining Buddha image.
On the way back to Yangon, you can stop off at Karzine village to buy traditional medicine products made of preserved scorpion, which are displayed in jars and bottles of various sizes. You will stay overnight in Yangon.
Day 3: Yangon – Thanlyin - Yangon(B/L/D)
Today you will visit Thanlyin Syriam, which was a Portuguese colonial port during the 16th Century. En route, you will get to see lotus covered lakes and small wooden houses built in traditional village style. Upon arrival, you will visit the Kyauk Tan Yele Pagoda, situated in the middle of the river, and where you can enjoy feeding the huge catfish around the pagoda. The next must stop see is the Sacred Heart Church, built by the Portuguese during 18th Century. You will return to Yangon for a late lunch.
In the afternoon, you will begin driving through the heart of Yangon, with photo stops at Immanuel Baptist Church (built in 1885), City Hall, the High Court, and many other colonial style buildings. You will then visit Saint Mary's Cathedral, which is the biggest Catholic church in Myanmar. In the evening, You can walk on the banks of the Inya Lake before and overnight stay in Yangon.
